What you get

Grade A (#1) pallets look close to new apart from wear. The Grade A in this range has three solid stringers with no repairs and 4-way notched entry, so it suits racks, conveyors and automated equipment, which are sensitive to bad repairs and dimension drift.

Spec: Recycled with three solid stringers, none repaired. 4-way notched entry. Also sold as #1, premium recycled. Best for racking, conveyors, automated lines.

What moves the Grade A price

Only part of the used pallets coming back can be sorted as Grade A without stringer repairs, so supply is tighter than for Grade B and the price sits higher. Lumber matters too: when new pallets get expensive, more buyers compete for top-grade recycled ones. Track the inputs on the pallet market indicators.

Range: Chesapeake Pallets' published Grade A 48x40 quote range (our sister company), October 15, 2026. The 3-month figure applies the PFX forecast (how it's built).

Questions buyers ask

How much is a Grade A 48x40 pallet?

$6.75–$8.75 per pallet, delivered by the full truckload (616 pallets), as of October 15, 2026. Smaller orders usually cost more per pallet.

Is Grade A the same as #1?

Usually. Both names describe recycled pallets with original or plated stringers and no companion repairs. Some suppliers sell a stricter tier with no stringer repairs at all, so say which one you want in the PO.
